POSITION TITLE: Network / UniFi Systems Technician
COMPANY: Red System Ventures LLC (common ownership with kink.com, kinkstore.com)
LOCATION: San Francisco
BENEFITS:Contract / Project-Based, $40–$60/hr

This is a short-term project expected to require approximately one day of on-site work and is not intended to be an ongoing or long-term role.

OVERVIEW: We are seeking an experienced network technician with expertise in Ubiquiti UniFi systems to assist with upgrading and maintaining our internal network and security infrastructure.
This role involves replacing an existing UniFi Cloud Key, installing and configuring UniFi access points and cameras, and ensuring all devices are properly adopted and functioning within the UniFi Network and UniFi Protect systems.

The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with UniFi deployments, and the ability to work efficiently in an operational commercial environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
● Replace existing UniFi Cloud Key and configure the new controller environment.
● Replace and install UniFi Access Points, ensuring proper connectivity and WiFi performance.
● Replace and install UniFi Protect cameras as needed.
● Re-adopt all cameras and access points into the new UniFi controller.
● Troubleshoot adoption issues, connectivity problems, and PoE device configurations.
● Verify that all cameras are visible and recording properly in UniFi Protect.
● Confirm that all WiFi networks are broadcasting correctly and that network performance is stable.
● Document the final configuration, including device inventory and controller access information.
● Coordinate with internal staff regarding system access and any necessary downtime.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

● Demonstrated experience with Ubiquiti UniFi systems, including Cloud Key, UniFi Network, and UniFi Protect.
● Experience installing and configuring PoE devices, including access points and IP cameras.
● Strong understanding of networking fundamentals such as IP addressing, DHCP, VLANs, and device adoption.
● Ability to diagnose and resolve network connectivity and hardware issues.
● Ability to work independently and complete installation tasks efficiently.
● Strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
● Professional communication and ability to coordinate work within an active commercial environment.
