Pick the Basic Kit if you're starting out and want enough rope for the foundational ties (single column, two-rope chest harness, futomomo). Pick the Rigger's Kit if you already know you want to do partial-suspension work or full body harnesses without running short mid-tie.
About the rope
Our rope is CRX-grade, 100% Bangla Tossa jute — the highest commercial grade of Bangladesh's premium long-fiber jute, the same raw material that ends up in the most respected Japanese shibari ropes. The yarn is VOT (Vegetable Oil Treated) with food-grade soybean oil; JBO (the petroleum-based batching oil common in carpet-grade rope) is not used in our finishing process. Twisted at 38 TPM into a 3-ply, 6 mm rope, hand-knotted at the ends, ready to tie right out of the package.
Pro Tip: Jute rope shortens when wet because the fibers curl. If you ever wash it, hang it under tension to dry — it'll stretch back to length.

Care & Storage

Out of the package: ready to tie. No break-in or special prep required.

Storage: keep the rope in the included bag, loosely coiled. Don't seal in airtight plastic.

If you wash it: hand wash cool, hang under tension to dry. Jute shortens when wet.

Knot maintenance: re-tighten the overhand end-knots periodically.
A note on suspension
Natural fiber ropes can't be load-tested for guaranteed breaking strength the way synthetic uplines can. For full suspension, advanced riggers typically use multiple wraps, dedicated hard points, and their own rope-by-rope inspection. Use your own judgment.
