The Making of "Scream Queen": Lauren Phillips

She came to California chasing a dream and ended up restrained, owned, and loving it.

Role Playing on the Dark Side

One of my most memorable experiences at Kink.com was for Sex and Submission. My co-star was Xander Corvus. I played a woman who had just arrived in California with dreams of becoming a star. She tracks down a talent rep for what she believes is a simple meeting—but it turns out to be something far more sinister. The tone was dark, seductive, and creepy: an intense BDSM experience with a psychological edge, anal, and that delicious "you're not leaving this room" energy. It felt like we were making a psychological thriller with a sexual core, and I loved every second of it.

Making BDSM Movies at The Armory

We filmed at The Armory in San Francisco in 2016, and that place will always hold a special place in my heart. Kink had flown me in for the shoot, and after checking in, getting my paperwork done, and spending some time in wardrobe and makeup, I finally made it to set to meet James and Xander.

It was my first time working with Xander Corvus, and I remember being so excited and nervous—I had wanted to shoot with him for years. We all sat down together to discuss the script and scenario, making sure we were on the same page before easing into the dialogue and then the intense BDSM portion.

Restraint, Control, and Intense Domination

This scene was less about equipment and more about dominance. We used rope, metal and leather restraints — enough to keep me in place and create that raw, immersive atmosphere. I remember being restrained in a way that made me feel very displayed and very owned, which fit perfectly into the "you came here to be discovered, now you belong to me" storyline.

This intense shoot was all about the bondage, dominance, and anal sex with a psychological, slightly horror feel. The intensity came from the dynamic between me, James's direction, and Xander's performance. There were definitely those "oh my god, this is hot" moments where the fear/power/excitement all hit at once — the kind that makes you stay in character even when the camera stops rolling.

Processing the Sensations

Because I sometimes process intensity through laughter, there were little moments where the pain or restraint made me crack up—not because I was out of it, but because I was completely in it and my body was releasing energy. It was one of those scenes where the chemistry, the character, and the kink all click at once. Total magic.

My limits were never pushed, but I did explore some challenging positions that required extra communication and trust. James checked in with me constantly, which kept me grounded and respected. By the end of the day, I didn't want to leave. Emotionally, I felt empowered, exhilarated, and completely alive.

Why This Scene Still Lives in My Heart

Working with director Mr. Mogul always pulls the creativity out of me. My brain was on, my body was on, and I was fully in the moment. I remember thinking: Yep, this is my lane. During that shoot I was reminded how much I love dark, story-driven BDSM—not just "tie me up," but give me a role, give me a reason, give me a real power shift.

This one has it all: story, sex, submission, and atmosphere. It was creepy, it was hot, and it felt like real Kink. The Armory always felt like a second home, and the way the whole Kink team communicates, keeps models safe, and still delivers genuinely intense content? That's rare—and it's something I'll always be grateful for.
